Miles Wilcox
Sonoran Somatics is the bodywork, massage therapy, and breath work practice of Miles Wilcox
CAMTC Certified #94694
I trained in massage therapy and bodywork at the San Francisco School of Massage Therapy and Bodywork, which provided education on Swedish, Deep Tissue, Structural Integration, among other techniques. My work during training became focused on trauma-informed techniques for proprioceptive neuromuscular reprograming, and somatic release.
I am a trans person with an expansive gender expression, and have been through a few gender-affirming surgeries. My interest in attending massage school was an intersection of my exploration of consciousness-expanding substances, and my desire for more holistic post-surgery aftercare for myself and for others seeking life-affirming care. I wanted a better way to integrate body, mind, and spirit after a lifetime of internal disconnection and disassociation.
By combining trauma-informed bodywork with breath work, I am thrilled to provide many returning clients with a foundation for inner peace and exploration. My goal is to help you connect to your body and spirit in a way that makes your body feel like home.
In my free time I love to hike with my dog, Xena, paraglide around the world, forage for mushrooms, and knit.
